Driving in a private van, the first stop will be the charming town of Amarante, an ancient town filled with fine Romanesque architecture. There you will visit the 16th century Monastery of São Gonçalo and a Roman Bridge.
Next in Peso da Régua you will experience an award winning winery, complete with a guided tour.
One of the highlights of this tour is participating in the actual hand picking of the grapes prior to an impressive lunch consisting of Portuguese specialties.
After lunch, roll up your pants and take part in the traditional grape treading where you will stomp grapes in the cellars with your bare feet, something very special to experience!
After your hard work of treading the grapes, you will get you enjoy a tasting of the wines. The wine harvest in the Douro Valley is a once in a lifetime experience, something unlike no other!
